- DOL PARTNERSHIP UPDATE FINANCIAL CONSULTANT OPPORTUNITY

NYSACRA is pleased to announce a collaborative relationship with Roy Hogeboom Consulting, LLC. At a Board of Directors meeting last week, the NYSACRA board agreed to offer NYSACRA members opportunities to work with Roy Hogeboom in a number of areas. As most of you know, Roy Hogeboom worked for OMRDD for many years and has been consulting with a number of not-for-profit agencies since he left OMRDD. NYSACRA is interested in the help that Roy may bring to our members in the following areas: Reinvestment Plans and getting his clients additional monies by renegotiating their reinvestment plan; NYS OPTS proposals– providers will need assistance in interpreting OMRDD’s “Guiding Principles” and moving them to realistic proposals that OMRDD will fund and fund at a sufficient level; and, general CFR analysis and completion.

Agencies will establish their own working relationship with Roy based on the agency’s needs, if they so desire. Roy says that he can bring NYSACRA members “one major selling point - return on investment. A very high percentage of existing clients have a positive cash flow from my involvement. That is to say that the increases in funding received from the control agency net any fees that I charged leaves the agency with a positive dollar impact.”

Roy Hogeboom can be reached at the number below for further discussion of his background, references and fee schedule. NYSACRA will be providing members the opportunity to meet and talk with Roy at regional meetings in the future. Agencies can make arrangements for consults/appointments by contacting Roy directly at: Roy Hogeboom Consulting, LLC, PO Box 281, Voorheesville, NY, 12186, Phone - 518-861-3334, Fax – 518-861-3606, Email – This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

DOL PARTNERSHIP UPDATE

As we reported a few weeks ago, Kentucky, Maine, Arizona and New York have been selected as the states in which ANCOR will launch a partnership pilot with the U.S. Department of Labor to develop a One-Stop model that provides a flow of screened (criminal background checks) and trained (CPR and First Aid certification) direct support candidates to providers. If successful, the model will be launched nationwide, which would amount to a significant achievement in meeting the goals of the ANCOR National Advocacy Campaign and a number of NYSACRA’s workforce goals as well.

NYSACRA has been working with ANCOR on this initiative and will host a kick-off meeting in June to learn about the objectives of the pilot and to determine how the pilot will be structured in New York. There will be a team developed (of around 10) that will reflect HR expertise and that will be a liaison with ANCOR and DoL. Buffalo/Rochester has been selected by US DoL for the pilot and it needs to be strongly supported in that area. Please let Ann Hardiman ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) or Joe Macbeth ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) know if you are interested in attending the planning meeting. You should visit the websites listed for more general information about One-Stops at www.dol.gov or the www.workforcenewyork.com.
