Call Republican Congressional Reps:
Sign
Sweeney Letter to Preserve Medicaid!
Call them at:

House and Senate
staffs are currently negotiating a final budget reconciliation
deal for House/Senate Conference Committee approval.
Medicaid cuts are
likely to be part of the deal but the Senate has developed a
package that achieves Medicaid savings without hurting
beneficiaries. The House proposal however does hurt
beneficiaries.
Congressman
John Sweeney
- one of New York’s Republican House Delegation - is circulating a
letter against those Medicaid cuts that would hurt beneficiaries.
It is FOR REPUBLICAN HOUSE MEMBERS ONLY and will go to
leadership
by tomorrow
afternoon.
Congressman Sweeney
voted against the House Budget Reconciliation Act last month that
included Medicaid cuts. He should be profusely thanked by his
constituents and encouraged to keep up the good work to
support the Senate proposal and oppose the House proposal.
We are obviously grateful to
Congressman Sweeney for continuing to oppose such Medicaid cuts,
as he did in his vote against the House Budget Resolution. Peter
King is the only NY
Republican who Sweeney’s office informs us has signed so far.
We need to let New
York’s Republican House members know that they must weigh in
against the House proposal and support the Senate proposal. They
can advocate even without a conference committee having been
appointed, which is expected shortly.
MESSAGE: “Please sign onto Rep. Sweeney’s letter to House
leadership requesting the elimination of Medicaid cuts in the
Budget Reconciliation Bill that are harmful to recipients.”
PRIORITY TARGETS:
ALL NY REPUBLICAN CONGRESSIONAL REPS
1)
Sherwood Boelhert
- voted for the House Budget Reconciliation Act but just barely.
There’s a good chance he can be convinced to work against the
House proposal and for the Senate proposal.
2)
John McHugh
- voted against the House Budget Reconciliation Act. He too
should be profusely thanked by his constituents and encouraged
to keep up the good work and support the Senate proposal
and oppose the House proposal.
3.) Also, Representatives
Sue Kelly, John Walsh, Tom
Reynolds, Vito Fossella, Randy Kuhl,
all voted for the Budget Reconciliation Act and its Medicaid cuts,
but must continue to hear from you!
