This exciting executive leadership forum will address the most critical policy issues we will be and are facing in this field.

  1. Medicaid Reform & Perception of Medicaid – Medicaid is the single largest source of health care financing for people with disabilities.  Declining revenues may threaten Medicaid’s role, while the need for Medicaid grows.  How do we make our case?  Come and hear about the most commonly held beliefs about Medicaid and the right and wrong arguments to use?

  2. Workforce Recruitment and Retention – The US Department of Labor reports that nationally, the human service sector will add somewhere in the range of .8 and 1.2 million new jobs by 2010.  This means that human service employers will be in intense competition with other employers.  Hear some of the ways that agencies have made themselves a more attractive place to work.

  3. Consumer Directed Supports and Services & Not-for-Profit Agencies-  There is a direction toward supporting people with developmental disabilities to have greater choice, control and access to individual supports and services.  Speakers will outline:  The compelling reasons to change?  What innovation is needed to adapt to this direction?  Some of the tools that providers need?

Nationally Recognized Speakers include:

a.      Max Chmura, Managing Director, Navigant Consulting – “Innovation and Changing Your Business Model”

b.      Chris R. Lyons, J.D. Ryan & Smallacombe, PLLC – “Managing Risk & Individualized Supports & Services”
