Dear NYSACRA Member:
We are pleased to
invite you to participate in NYSACRA’s Legislative Day 2006 in Albany on
Tuesday, January 31st, 2006. The primary focus will be on asking legislators to
support any trends and increases in the Governor’s budget and educating them
about our workforce and the preservation of Medicaid. We have established a goal
of reaching each and every Legislator this year. We also have an exciting day
planned for your team in Albany.

Last year we had over 250 people
advocating for our issues. We were very successful and we have you to thank for
that success. However, we must come together as a force again to make our issues
heard loud and clear.
Our successes can be attributed
to you. You and your agency staffs, families and people with developmental
disabilities advocated and built relationships with legislators and educated
them about the impact that policy proposals have on agencies and on the people
with developmental disabilities they support. It is imperative that we continue
this grassroots effort especially as the Federal government cuts the Medicaid
budget for next year.

All appointments, handouts, scripts and other information for a successful visit
will be provided by NYSACRA when you arrive on January 31st, 2006. To

agency, whether through full-fledged displays or brochures. We have
invited your Legislators to your breakfast. Once again, it is
important that you and your team participate in this crucial event.
