| · CONGRESSIONAL RECESS - MEET YOUR REPS AT HOME NOW!
| <>>
| <>>
Congress has begun a month long recess and this is a great time to meet with your Reps at home.
You should request a face-to-face meeting, attend one of their events, or even plan an Agency event and invite your Representative; then get your story out to the press and media, by calling, writing or submitting a letter to the editor.
You can also use the NYSACRA Action Alert to ask them to sign up for HR 1279, the Direct Support Professionals Fairness and Security Act of 2007. In concert with our national partner ANCOR, we are taking part in a national effort to improve the lives of our DSPs and we need your support!! See www.nysacra.org or email version of this News & Views.

Starting in 2008 such items cannot be purchased using the resident's Medicaid card, but must then be supplied by providers. Providers are also responsible for supplying such items for use at the resident's day program.
