Legislative Information
The United States Constitution and the NYS Constitution afford every American citizen the right to petition the government. Issues facing the field of mental retardation and developmental disabilities are enormous and it is imperative that we all – parents, consumers, and agency staff alike – become actively involved in the public policy process.

Come Join Us! to NYSACRA’s Legislative Day that will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the Empire State Plaza in Albany. The primary focus remains the State Budget and January 26th affords us the opportunity to urge State Legislators to preserve essential services and support a trend. Our successes result from the collaborations that you and your agency staff, families and individuals with disabilities have developed. It’s because of the collaborations that we have a positive impact on legislative, policy and state budget decision-making. Now, more than ever, we need to mobilize, collaborate and continue to strengthen relationships in Albany.
