OMRDD has issues a new booklet, entitled "Health Care Choices: Who Can Decide?" designed to replace their earlier publication entitled "Advance Directives." It is intended to familiarize people and their families with the health care decision options that are available in New York State on the topics of: informed consent, health care proxies, do-not- resuscitate (DNR) orders, the Health Care Decisions Act for Persons with Mental Retardation, and Living Wills.
