PLEASE FILL OUT THE LINKED FORM AND RETURN BY 10/10/08 OMRDD has asked provider associations to collect information so that they can summarize the impact of a law that is sunsetting; the law allows employees to practice psychology and social work without licensure in OMRDD programs. Without the coverage of the law, which sunsets effective 1/1/10, titles such as social worker, ABSS, and other counselor type positions would be restricted only to people holding the NYS license for that position. Thus, we are helping OMRDD to advocate for an alternative to the sunset. Unfortunately , we were given a very short turn-around time, but we would appreciate you doing your best to respond by Friday
The following link named LCSW Data Collection.xls http://www.nysacra.org/nysacra/news/lcsw datacollection.xls will take you to an Excel spreadsheet that asks you for number of social work and psychology positions in your agency, average caseload size, and average salary for these positions. The formulas in the spreadsheet will calculate cost of replacing positions based on the salaries you enter, but there is a "default" value assigned in case you don't fill in a salary. We used a very rough estimate for average starting salary of licensed psychologist and licensed master social worker of $65,000. But again, that's just a default, so it won't come into play unless you leave the salary line blank. Finally, it is likely that you will receive this request from several associations, if you hold multiple memberships. It would be great if you could respond to all, just indicating who you sent responses to so we won't double-count your information. Please send your responses to
