·  ADDITIONAL STATE BUDGET CUTS ARE A POSSIBILITY

Governor Paterson this week announced that the current economic climate may warrant additional cuts to the 2009-10 State Budget and spending plan. The potential $3 billion in spending cuts does not reflect formal projections and revenue estimates, rather serves as a "benchmark" based on the previous year's actions. New York's economic future will be more apparent following the June 15th first quarterly tax payments for 2009. At such time, lawmakers and the Governor may decide whether mid-year budget cuts will be necessary.
