They are the frontline of a service system that night and day,
year round, supports over 125,000 New Yorkers with developmental
disabilities. They work in a myriad of programs from St. Lawrence County to
Staten Island, from the shores of Lake Erie to Montauk Point.
It is rare that direct support professionals—upon whom so much and so many depend—have the occasion to gather together to reflect on their role, discuss and
learn from each other, and recharge their batteries to carry on tomorrow, renewed.
