NYSACRA was awarded an 18 month grant from the NYS Developmental Disabilities Planning Council in November, 2007 to explore, develop, and implement effective models of individualized shared living that will increase community participation of individuals with developmental disabilities.  Partners in the effort were Parent to Parent of New York State and the Self Advocacy Association of New York State. “Shared living” can mean many things, but the intent here was to explore ways in which people with developmental disabilities can choose where, how, and with whom to live.
